NOTICE OF PROPERTY TAX INCREASE
The City of Emerson has tentatively adopted a 2023 millage rate which will require an increase in property taxes by 14.70 percent over the rollback rate. All concerned citizens are invited to the public hearing on this tax increase to be held at the Emerson City Hall Council Chambers, 700 Highway 293, Emerson, GA 30137 on the following dates:
August 7, 2023 at 9:00 am
August 7, 2023 at 6:00 pm
August 14, 2023 at 6:30 pm
The tentative increase will result in a millage rate of 3.745 mills, an increase of 0.48 mills. Without this tentative tax increase, the millage rate will be no more than 3.265 mills. The proposed tax increase for a home with a fair market value of $300,000 is approximately $52.80 and the proposed tax increase for non-homestead property with a fair market value of $325,000 is approximately $62.40.
